Join the mission to make a difference in our community!
The “Socks & Sandwiches Food Drive” is your chance to give back. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday, our organization distributes new socks and food to the forgotten citizens of Colorado Springs. Together, we can bring warmth. It is important that we become the change that the entire community needs.
In 2022, our founder and local philanthropist, Pastel B. McCoy, launched “The Socks & Sandwiches Drive” with a mission to fight hunger and provide essential support to the most vulnerable citizens – the homeless community of Colorado Springs and its surrounding areas. Driven by her deep belief that every person is a valuable asset to the community, Pastel was determined to make a difference where it was needed most.
Recognizing the growing issues of hunger and housing displacement, Pastel knew that the road ahead would not be easy. However, her passion for helping others and her commitment to restoring dignity and hope to those in need fueled her determination. What began as a small, grassroots effort quickly gained momentum as volunteers, donors, and community members rallied around the cause.
Today, The Socks & Sandwiches Drive continues to embody Pastel’s vision, providing new socks and nutritious meals to hundreds of people every month. Through the collective efforts of our volunteers and supporters, we are not only addressing immediate needs but also fostering a spirit of compassion and community in the process. Our organization remains steadfast in its mission to fight hunger and uplift the overlooked.
Our mission at the Socks & Sandwiches Drive is to restore dignity and provide essential support to the forgotten citizens of Colorado Springs. By offering warmth, nourishment, and a compassionate hand, we aim to build a stronger, more caring community—one sock and sandwich at a time.
